Addiction & Recovery Presentations at Obion High School

On January 18th, 2019 Carla Aaron (Obion County Prevention Coalition Coordinator), Dianne Sherrod (TN Lifeline), and Melesa Lassiter (Regional Overdose Prevention Specialist) presented on the topic of addiction and recovery to the classes of Amy Montgomery at Obion County Central High School.

The students were able to watch a video on celebrities that were once viewed as well to do individuals and how their lives were overtaken, and later caused their deaths by drug use.

Dianne Sherrod gave her testimony about her addiction and how she was able to find recovery. She shared a message of hope into the lives of the students at OCCHS.

The coalition held a contest with the students to pick a celebrity and write about this. Gift cards were given to the winners. She offered the services of the Obion County Prevention Coalition and encourage students to join the youth coalition efforts.
