This comprehensive training will offer Clinical, Criminal Justice, and Community tracks. You will have the opportunity to select sessions in the registration process.

  • Community Track: MAT Today - Introduction to the current prevalence of opioid use, OUD, and MAT therapy
  • Clinical Track: Foundations of MAT - The cornerstone of pharmacologic treatment for opioid use disorder
  • Criminal Justice Track: Tackling Transitions - MAT plays an important role for patient health when transitioning into and out of the criminal justice system (SAMHSA Guidelines)

  • Community Track: Staying the course - Navigating the road to recovery. Using peer navigators and services to enhance opioid use treatment and prevent relapse
  • Clinical Track: Keeping the "A" in MAT - Using psychotherapy and behavioral therapy to assist in the treatment of opioid use disorder is key to optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Criminal Justice Track: Addiction and the law - Legal implications of addiction and MAT and the role of justice professionals

11:00 - 11:50 - Breakouts

  • Community Track: (Repeat) Keeping the "A" in MAT - Using psychotherapy and behavioral therapy to assist in the treatment of opioid use disorder is key to optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Clinical Track: ECHOing the Experts - Project ECHO utilizes telemedicine to connect providers to expert opinion to improve patient care in local communities
  • Criminal Justice Track: MAT behind bars - Treating Opioid use disorder in jails and prisons; workforce development and program opportunities

  • Community Track: Home is where the health is - Increasing awareness of MAT - friendly recovery houses and available MAT resources can help improve patient access to care (TDMHSAS locators, etc.)
  • Clinical Track: MAT STAT - Induction of MAT in the ED
  • Criminal Justice Track: MAT Methadone – Understanding the role of methadone in MAT

2:00 - 2:30 - Break/Networking

2:30 - 3:20 Breakouts

  • Community Track: (Repeat) MAT - Methadone - Understanding the role of methadone in MAT
  • Clinical Track: Treating the Whole Patient - Opioid use disorder often presents with concomitant conditions, including chronic pain, and all diseases states must be considered when initiating MAT
  • Criminal Justice Track: (Repeat) Home is where the health is - Increasing awareness of MAT - friendly recovery houses and available MAT resources can help improve patient access to care (TDMHSAS locators, etc.)
