The Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition certifies and trains people who live in the Upper Cumberland region on how to give the lifesaving medication Naloxone and provides two doses of the nasal spray to certified individuals at no cost. The trainings are tailored to circumstances but they usually take just under an hour. Anyone can contact us and we schedule individual, group trainings, faith based and workplace/campus trainings. Our goal is to educate on the Opioid Epidemic, how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose and how to obtain resources the person or family may need. Through these efforts we would love to see decreased overdose deaths and increased numbers of people living in long term recovery.
