Seventy-Five families attended the Houston County Community Baby Shower! The event was held at Houston County Health Department. This was a free event for expecting mothers, fathers, and guardians of children up to 1 year. Door prizes, goodie bags, refreshments, and local resources were provided. Educational booths demonstrated car seat safety, infant choking and CPR procedures, safe sleep methods, dangers of lead poisoning, dangers of tobacco use, and neonatal abstinence syndrome information. This event was possible thanks to a partnership between The Department of Health, UT Extension, Highland Rim, Centerstone, Mother to Mother, and local hospitals. Another thank you goes out to the many volunteers that helped us!
