The 3rd Annual Rutherford Recovery Fest

The 3rd Annual Rutherford Recovery Fest - a Prevention Coalition for Success and Project Lifeline event - took place on Saturday, September 7th at Patterson Park in Murfreesboro, TN.

The goal of this free community-driven event was to reduce the stigma surrounding addiction and to provide resources and education. The event included music, guest speakers, food trucks, free food, door-prize giveaways, and many activities for kids. The Regional Overdose Prevention Specialist held a naloxone training sessions and distributed 30 naloxone kits. 51 exhibitors including treatment facilities, recovery programs, community organizations, healthcare organizations, and faith-based organizations set up resource tables. Express employment staffing brought their mobile job office for employment resources. Street Works offered HIV testing. The Mid-Cumberland Health Department offered free hepatitis A vaccines.

The event was a huge success thanks to many volunteers. The community came together to provide resources for persons struggling with addiction and for their families. The event was well attended and many stories of recovery were celebrated.
