Rutherford County's Prevention Coalition For Success invited the TTU iCube to the December coalition meeting. Representatives from the iCube presented information about Tennessee's new Occupant Protection Center and demonstrated their virtual reality drugged driving simulator.
Coalition members were able to drive through a virtual version of downtown Nashville, TN. As if driving in Nashville wasn't scary enough different filters or "substances" were placed over the screen making driving much more difficult. The point was to show how disorienting and dangerous driving under the influence can be.
Prevention Coalition For Success plans to purchase the virtual reality headset for educational use within the community!
