On August 31st, International Overdose Awareness Day, Be Aware Blount hosted an event to remember community members we’ve lost to overdose. The event was held held at Smithview Pavilion.

During the event we focused on providing resources to prevent overdose while remembering those we’ve lost with a candlelight vigil.

The event included:

• Food trucks.
• Narcan distribution.
• Vendor booths with free merchandise.
• A spin the wheel activity with prizes.
• A candlelight memorial with photos.

Thank you to everyone who came out to our first annual Take Back Blount event in honor of International Overdose Awareness Day! Hearing everyone's stories and being able to be together as a community was a humble reminder that we are not alone, and we are stronger together.
