Dekalb Collects 46lbs of Medication During Take Back Day

Dekalb Prevention Coalition participated in National Take Back Day 2018.

Coalition members set up a booth on October 27th outside of Smithville City Hall. They asked individuals to drop off any expired, unwanted, or unused medication. By the end of the day the event helped to gather 46 pounds of medication! Among the medication sleeping pills and morphine injection shots were found.

Dekalb took back more medication this year than last and would like to thank the volunteers as well as community members for taking initiative.
