Green Co. Hospitals Accepting Recovery Navigator Services

The Tennessee Recovery Navigator program has been able to reach individuals in their most vulnerable state. With the Navigators being both peers and located in the hospitals, it provides a new way of outreaching to individuals and connecting with them on their road to recovery. The Navigators will serve any person who is seen at the hospitals if they were admitted due to an overdose, are currently experiencing active withdrawal, or have been identified as having a substance use disorder. The type of insurance a person has helps the Navigators find treatment options best suited for the individual.

Currently there are two hospitals receiving navigators services in Greene County:

  • Greeneville Community Hospital East
  • Greeneville Community Hospital West

We are always looking for ways to expand the program and expand our reach to different hospitals throughout Tennessee. In total, the TN Recovery Navigators have worked with 5,923 patients since the program began (through 3-31-21).

Tennessee Recovery Navigators are people in long-term recovery who meet patients who have recently overdosed in the Emergency Department and connect them with the substance abuse treatment and recovery services they need.  Navigators maintain a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Certification in order to use their lived experience to help others find recovery.
