Power of Putnam Hosts "Pop Up" Narcan Training

Last weekend Power of Putnam or P.O.P. partnered with Smith County Drug Prevention Coalition, Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, and Lite Rock 95.9 to host a "pop up" community Narcan Training.

The event was free and open to the public. Booths were set up in the back of the GoodWill/OfficeMax parking lot.

  • Over 20 people were trained and received free naloxone kits.
  • Medication lock boxes and Deterra Drug Deactivation bags were handed out.
  • Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network passed out resources.
  • Lite Rock 95.9 set up games and gave out prizes while playing music.

If you are interested in receiving Narcan training check out the resources attached to find your regional overdose prevention specialist.

If you are in need of a Deterra at-home safe disposal drug deactivation kit or a medication lock box contact Power of Putnam or your local prevention coalition.
