Nashville Recovery Center Remembers Those Lost to the Opioid Crisis During IOAD 2020

Nashville Recovery Center hosts a celebration through remembrance at their International Overdose Awareness Day, filled with music, guest speakers, family, and friends.

International Overdose Awareness Day is a day to remember, a day to connect and #endthestigma. Nashville Recovery Center held an IOAD event packed with amazing guest speakers, musicians, and acts of remembrance.

Former Nashville mayor Megan Berry attended in honor of her son, as did many other parents, siblings, and friends. The group's Wall of Remembrance was erected in the community center to post pictures and names of the loved ones that the city honored on this day.

Beautiful live music set the scene for a gorgeous service, and purple kites were flown onsite and at home to remember loved ones. This was a hybrid event, onsite and Livestream, so that all that wished to participate could do so safely. Other communities, like Lakeview Health, Promises Behavioral Health, and TAADAS also came out for the event.
