Sarah Blessing, Partnerships for Success and RX Grant Coordinator for the Power of Putnam Coalition, contacted Putnam County high schools to find out if their health teachers would be interested in integrating Operation Prevention or other opioid abuse education into their curriculum. When she spoke to the instructors, they expressed concern about delivering the information themselves, so Sarah offered to give a presentation to their classes on the science of addiction with resources taken directly from Operation Prevention.Power of Putnam (POP) is a coalition of educators and other community leaders who are concerned about the issue of substance abuse in Putnam County. POP seeks to unite the community in the development and implementation of strategies to prevent and lessen the progression of substance abuse.
