Franklin County Prevention Coalition hosted a Fall DEA Drug Take Back Day on October 29th. They collaborated with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department and held the event at our Farmers Market. They really advertised the event and hoped to spread awareness on how to handle medication.
They collected 4 barrels of medication weighing in at 102.94lbs. They also handed out a lot of community resources, medication lock boxes, and held individual overdose reversal training for anyone interested.
They currently have 7 permanent drop boxes in Franklin county, so if residents didn't make it out, they could still drop off any unused or expired medications.
